Resources for Autism provides practical services for individuals on the autistic spectrum and their families. These include music and art therapy, play services, holiday play schemes, adult art therapy and social skills groups, siblings and parents support groups, home based family support and information and advice. These take place in a range of venues throughout the UK.
The Charity had previously been using a custom-built database which had served users well for several years. However, the database had limitations, especially with regard to reporting and interface capability with members of the public. The Charity was looking for a more flexible solution to their data management.
Liza Dresner, Director asked for;
- An internet-based software programme accessible by staff around the UK
- Great reporting functionality
- User-friendly views
- The ability to quickly identify clients on the waiting list of differing services
Added Value
Apricot was able to offer all these and more. Several components of the site are innovations for the Charity, offering it a solution to many more problems.
Online Client Referral
The software immediately saved the charity data input time by allowing new client referrals to be completed online by any referee, using a generic log-in for members of the public. Because the software allows an organisation to restrict access by users to specific parts of the site, members of the public cannot access any data.
Donor Recording, Monitoring and Tracking
Another innovation for the Charity is the ability to record donor information on a database, enabling them to create a customer relationship management programme for the first time.
Tracking and Monitoring Outcomes
Most vitally, Apricot will enable Resources for Autism to track and monitor the outcomes of their services. Using the milestones field, clients’ progress can be recorded and tracked throughout their relationship with the Charity.
Liza Dresner, Director of Resources for Autism says ‘I am excited at the prospect of using our Apricot site for many years to come. I know that the flexibility of the software will allow it to grow and adapt with us as we face the many challenges of a small service-driven charity.’
